The Lakes Whiskymaker's Edition Mosaic is a sensational expression from The Lakes Distillery. Inspired by the Silk Road, Mosaic brings together diverse flavours from both east and west to create this elegant single malt. 

Leaving a profound influence on today’s food, religion, art, poetry, and silk-making, the term ‘Silk Road’ arose to describe the ancient intercontinental avenue in the late 1800s. Today, it has become a metaphor of European and Asian cultural interchange; the inspiration behind The Whiskymaker’s Editions, Mosaic.

Aroma: Dried sultanas, roasted macadamia nuts, chocolate malt, autumn leaves
Palate: Light and fruity, blackcurrants, woodspice, chocolate coated coffee beans
Finish: Long and almost malty with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg

The Whiskymaker’s Editions is a series of one-off releases showcasing the sense of adventure of their whiskymakers. Each Edition is an exceptional diversion from The Lakes sherry-led house style; an expression of creative freedom, the product of a playground where instinct, experience and inspiration roam free.

Specialising in narrative art and illustration, visual artist Sveta Dorosheva set to work on telling the nomadic and ancient storyline of Mosaic through her unique, detailed style of artistry.

Cumbria hosts the Lakes Distillery, founded in 2011 by Paul Currie, co-founder of Isle of Arran Distillery. Situated within a renovated farmstead by River Derwent in a national park, they innovate due to limited space, using custom stills for whisky and a smaller one for Lakes Gin/Vodka. Whisky master Dhavall Ghandi joined in 2016, infusing tradition with fresh inspiration. The Lakes introduced The Whiskymaker’s Reserve in 2019, a series of single malts. Located near Penrith, it's a gem of heritage and innovation.
