Burnt Faith Brandy, Batch 001
This is the inaugural batch from the new Burnt Faith distillery, based in from Walthamstow. Made from eaux-de-vie distilled in France, but aged in England in a mixture of Spanish Brandy, Bourbon, Pineau des Charentes and Cherry Liqueur casks.
The result is a stand-out brandy with complexity and bags of flavour: morello cherries, dark chocolate, toffee, spiced ginger and hazelnuts. Absolutely delicious!
Perfect sipped neat or try it in a Brandy Sour.
ÆPPEL DRENC, English Apple Brandy, Wharf Distillery
Crafted entirely from hand-picked, hand-pressed English apples grown locally in Northamptonshire. Then the addition of wild yeasts and a chunk of time, triple-distilled to optimise flavour and aroma. The very essence of English apples.
Delicious either neat or sipped over ice, or why not try a classic apple brandy sour:
2 shots of Æppel Drenc
30ml fresh lemon juice
25ml simple sugar syrup (50/50 sugar and water)
1 egg white (or 15ml Aquafaba for a vegan option)
3 dashes of Angostura bitters
Shake with ice and serve with... a slice of apple, of course!
